Great meme crossover, but honestly - why would you be one of the baddies? The oil is a necessity, it’s not optional. If you stopped 100% of oil production tomorrow, the following day there would be rationing, within a week there’d be protests, in two there would be riots, within a month, several governments would most likely collapse, and more than a few wars would break out.
That’s not hyperbole. That’s a reasonable estimation of the series of events that would occur if oil is removed from present day society.
We don’t need “alternative energy sources” we need solid, stable, reliable, replacement energy sources, as good or better than what we’re wanting to remove.
For the time being - people working on those crews are literally keeping society from collapsing into full-blown anarchy.
